Northern Italy - Uffizi

We're on the Oct. 3, 2018 Northern Italy tour and wish to visit the Uffizi Galleries in Florence. It appears the afternoon of Day 9 would be the only time available to visit the Uffizi. Also that an entrance time about 3pm would safely allow for any delays during the scheduled morning tour of Florence.
I ask others who have taken this tour and anyone from Odysseys if we should buy tickets on-line before we start the tour or if it is better to wait and have our guide assist us once the tour begins?
