Received your catalog for 2020. I was disappointed to not see a listing for Classic Germany. What happened? Will it return?

Hi joek, No, we won't be offering Classic Germany in 2020, and regret that you are disappointed. However, we are looking to return there in 2021 (not definite as yet, though). We'll announce any and all new tours as they happen.

Glad to here this will probably be returning. It was one of the next two trips we were considering for 2020.

To the moderator: A couple of the September departure dates for Classic Germany indicate that we would be in Munich during Octoberfest. Will we be able to participate without forgoing a part of the trip that has already been paid for, or would it be on our own time. If so, how long? Thanks,

Hi joek, Any participation in Munich's Oktoberfest activities would be on your own during the two-night stay in that city. There is time on your own for dinner and the first evening in Munich (Day 7), and the afternoon of Day 8. You could also venture out after the included dinner on Day 8, if you didn't want to miss any of the included meals or activities.

To the moderator: Realistically, how much time would we be able to spend at Oktoberfest, given the Odysseys events planned and written into the trip and the travel time back and forth from the hotel to the festival grounds. I would think that this world class festival should have a days worth of enjoyment. And then, of course there's recovery time. I am sorry to see you use this as a selling feature when there really isn't sufficient time to enjoy it without missing out on some of the terrific things that you provide. You suggested we could go after dinner on day 8. What time might that be? I'm getting way too old to start partying after a late dinner...and for the record I'm getting way too old to party in the middle of the afternoon and then be back at the hotel for our included dinner. Sorry Odysseys, this ain't gonna work.

Hi joek, The fairgrounds for Munich's Oktoberfest are about a half-mile from our hotel- a 15- to 20-minute walk. We return to the hotel after the morning's sightseeing @ 1:00 p.m.; in the evening we depart from the hotel for dinner at 6:00 p.m. We have found that this is a sufficient amount of time for our guests to experience and enjoy the festivities of Oktoberfest, should they choose to. We wish you a wonderful trip to Germany!
