We just came back from another wonderful trip of Odysseys. But as we are getting older it crossed our mind that it would be nice to have longer stays in one place.
So we are wondering if Odysseys would consider creating a number of one week tours in major cities, and surroundings, that could provide a package for cultural (museums, theaters) and gastronomical (michelin star food, cooking classes) experience; and staying for seven nights in one nice centrally located small hotel. Odyssey could also provide inter European flights to experience two or three such city tours at a time, or at the end of regular tours. Just some obvious places, London, Paris, Rome, Florence, St. Petersburg, etc.
Thanks for consideration.

Wonderful idea! There are other tour companies that do this, Road Scholar being one (that I would not consider using). I would also like to see some tours that are "so-called" off-the-beaten path. So many of the major sites are far too crowded. I would think that Odysseys' Tour Directors could help with putting together tours that go to places that only those living in the locale know about. I also just returned from a tour, and met couples who were taking their 10th tour. For Odysseys to meet the needs of these repeat customers, I'd hope that they would think about new tours, longer tours in one place, more niche tours such as highlighting food, etc. Again, thanks to Odysseys for being a great tour company!

I would second this except to stay in a smaller town. The in depth experience would be valuable and adding cooking and language classes, with the added pleasure of unpacking once.

Thank you all for your suggestions; we will pass them along to our Product Development team. Please know that we are always considering and exploring ideas for new tours - but they have to meet a variety of conditions, including demand (interest), value, and even airline routes, before we can put them all together.

I absolutely agree. All the major tour companies are doing nearly identical itineraries at this point. And all the stops on them are over-touristed. So it definitely is time for off the beaten path itineraries, in-depth exploration of a region rather than trying to see so much of a country in one tour, smaller towns, etc, etc. I think whichever tour operator takes the lead on this will be a true winner. Yes, there are some companies doing this, but often they target "adventure" travelers (hiking, kayaking, etc) rather than "regular" folks like Odysseys' current core base. I hope Odysseys soon will offer some unique, region-specfic tours that don't mirror other companies' itineraries. Thank you.
